Saco Pathfinders February 2010 Newsletter
www.sacopathfinders.net
Hi Everyone:
It looks as if it will be a short newsletter this month as everything is at a standstill in what should be the heart of the snowmobile season.
Thinking that I must have jinxed it when I went out and bought a new pair of cross country skis.
I got to use them once then the big rain came and we are down to dirt.
As I write this it looks dry for at least another week.
But at least it's only a pair of skis I am sitting on and not a $10,000 snowmobile as I have in the past.
Family Fun Day
As I sit here, writing this I have to say that the Family Fun Day that was scheduled for this Saturday at Grants Farm has been postponed and if things don't turn around with a big storm in the next week or so it will be necessary to cancel it.
I will try to keep everyone posted of the date if it is rescheduled.
Nomination of Officers
Nomination of officer candidates for the 2010/2011 season will be taken starting with the February 3rd meeting and continued thru the 2nd March meeting.
At this time all offices are open as the present group has been in position for quite some time and need a break.
I think at this time we have potential candidates for treasurer and secretary but those and all the others, including 3 directors are open for nomination.
The directors positions are for three year terms and up for renewal this year are the seats held by Bruce Plouffe, Roland Peloquin and Rino Nadeau.
My position as the treasurer will definitely end this year as I have decided not to buy another sled.
Clubhouse Weekends
If we do get good trail conditions, the clubhouse will be open weekends thru the end of February, providing that adequate help can be found.
Club Trip
The first club trip which was scheduled for last weekend to Millinocket was I am told relocated to Jackman where conditions were a bit better.
The 2nd club trip is scheduled for February 25th thru 27th to Presque Isle returning on the 28th.
At the moment I believe that there are a couple of openings left.
You can drop Angel a note at the website email, sacopathfinders@yahoo.com and she can let you know for sure.
Trail Work
Trail work has been continuing periodically thru the winter.
I believe that a crew roofed the shelter on the pole line a couple weeks ago and also worked on a bridge or two.
Memberships
Membership has been very good this year, especially considering the economy and the so so winter that we have had.
We currently have 84 members and 5 business members .
The business members are F.M. Abbott Power Equipment, Reynolds Motorsports, Richard Nadeau and Son, J Hannah Mechanical and Grants Farm.
Please support these loyal business's.
That will wrap it up for this month as like I said everything is at a standstill due to the snow or lack thereof.
